While there are a number of concerns associated with this shift, the benefits of cloud computing far outweigh the disadvantages. By implementing the right strategies, companies can ensure a smooth transition to the cloud and reap the benefits for years to come.

Infrastructure-, platform-, and software-as-a-service models are sometimes shown as levels in a stack because they offer increasing abstraction; however, these models are not necessarily connected.
For instance, SaaS may be provided on physical computers without underlying PaaS or IaaS layers being used, and vice versa, a programme can be executed on IaaS and accessed directly without being disguised as SaaS.
